Gypsum Applications

Damp bedding materials provide ideal growing conditions for bacteria. Gypsum is moisture absorbing mineral containing calcium and sulfur which cannot support bacterial growth. The animal bedding decreases teat end exposure to environmental mastitis pathogens. It is ideal for animal bedding because it retains and reduces moisture. We recommend the mulch variant as it works great stand-alone, with sawdust or sand.

Dairy Bedding

Gypsum is popular for agricultural applications as it retains moisture while providing a bedding pack. It is a great additive for corn, potatoes and blueberry crops as it helps soil retain nitrogen and to aerate. Either variant (Mulch or Powder) is recommended.

Fertilizing value:

  • 21% Calcium (Ca)

  • 15% Sulphur (S)

  • 79% Calcium Sulphate

  • 11% Calcium Carbonate

Agricultural

The natural process of composting can be accelerated and improved by controlling ingredients and environmental factors. Gypsum compost additive is a valuable tool in producing quality compost. We recommend the mulch variant of gypsum.
